Whether this Blue-tit is getting ready for spring, or sheltering from the awful weather, we're not sure but he was there for quite some time...
Either way, it is heartening to know that the holes Colin drilled into the front garden wall are yet again providing shelter for wildlife.
To put the above shot in context, here is the uncropped version, zoomed in on the wall some 30 metres away..
It doesn't seem five minutes since we captured last year's brood (below) and even the year before last's brood calling for food...
How lucky we feel at the prospect of having something like this to look forward to again!

Keep an eye on that whole hole... there may be quite a few roosting in there at night.
Parpaing nest boxes are obviously all the rage!!
