A Favourite Walk

Taking advantage of last night's snowfall, we had a walk through our local woods; always a favourite for us...

There is so  much to see, whatever the season. In the snow, tracks made by animals and birds show up clearly..
Two deer crossed the path in front of us at separate points on the walk but I hadn't time to focus my camera before they were off into the shadows.

These bright red berries peeping out from beneath waxy green leaves contrast strongly with the snowy background..

A young conifer draped with snow makes an almost comical (and conical!) shot..

And the forms of the branches themselves stand out, starkly outlined by a layer of snow.

The woodland is captured in this water droplet as the snow begins to thaw...

Whilst we know how much misery it causes for those who need to travel and get to work, a snowy day here in Braye is a sheer delight. We hope it comes back very soon...

Perfect Wild Boar footprint there... showing the two rear toes. And I like the Butcher's Broom pic too.

I like the way snow highlights branches too.
