Weeds and the incredible price of 'Roundup'

Oh well a bit of free advertising coming up!!

We are generally not big users of weedkiller, in fact the only time we use it is to spray our pebbled drive to keep it weed free. For that we use 'Le desherbant annuel Herbatak Plus' a French product that is reasonably priced (we paid €5 for enough to do 570 m² ) and appears to work, usually not for the 12 months though...

This year our pelouse (grass) is being taken over by a dandelion type weed.

But we have found a solution, one spray of 'Roundup'  in the centre of each and they die incredibly well!!!

However the price of 'Roundup' here in France is incredible; a 3 litre container with a pump action spray nozzle is between €20 and €25...

When last over in the UK at the beginning of June we paid just over £7 for the same container at our local Tesco...  It's now on our import list!

So who's making the profit then??

Get an ordinary bottle of Glyphosate concentrate [8€ for 1 litre... makes many gallons....] and refil the spray!
Roundup is Glyphosate.

Roundup is not the friendliest of stuff for the environment. For the odd dandelion type weed on the lawn, try half a teaspoonful of ordinary table salt directly on to the 'crown' of the weed where the leaves spread out. Leave for a couple of days and it will kill the dandelion right to the root with minimal damage to surrounding vegetation. - It's cheap too!

Now I have never heard of that before - I shall give it a try - if it ever stops raining for long enough here in Derbyshire !!
