Having decided they would be better placed close to the house we chose a spot of spare land, measured up and went to buy some pressure treated timber.
In next to no time Colin had constructed a 'raised bed', 3m x 1m, which would house not only the herbs we already have but also a sowing of seeds to grow new varieties.
Painted and filled with a mix of home-made compost and weed free garden soil and it was ready to plant up..
We moved our existing plants of Lemon Thyme, Common Thyme, Rosemary, Chives, Flat-leaved Parsley and Tarragon straight into the bed...
I took cuttings to propagate the Rosemary and put the main plant in the front garden, as it is an attractive shrub.
The Mint and Strawberry Mint will have to go into pots as they are too invasive to put with the other herbs
All that remains is to sow the seeds we have..
And then (hopefully) it will be herbs with everything!

Well done, Colin. You've made a super job of the raised herb bed.
That looks super - You're so lucky to have handy Colin around. What's your hourly rate Colin? (If I have to ask, I can't afford it right)?
