Looking at our three cherry trees and listening to the loud hum when you approach them, it is looking like it could be a good year.
These two are eating cherries
This one is a sour cherry.
Oh dear all that stoning... better get my mother over again!!
On a different note, despite a few cracks in the wood, we appear to have two holes used in our bee hotel. Just after taking the photograph another bee popped out of a hole. It looks like it could be full in no time.
Watch this space...

Keep hold of that blossom until I get back! I don't want to miss it! (Elizabeth)
We've had three of the 8mm holes filled, with a further 6 being worked hard this afternoon.
The 6mm holes are next with two filled and at least two others being worked...
the least successful are the 10mm holes...
only one filled so far...
but three being worked...
And if I sit too close with the point&shoot camera [on super-macro]...
they get confused and take a lot of time finding the current hole that they are working...
it is a wonderful way of passing time on a warm, sunny day.
I envy you the cherries. Our house there had two huge trees and we couldn't keep up with using them, even after letting the birds have all the upper have of the tree crop.
They are so expensive in the shops it's a treat to have your own.
Tim, Its been fine here today and we now have 4 filled and a work in progress, all 10mm holes. The hotel with small holes has nothing as yet.
Craig, I love cherries and we have one batch of last years left in the freezer, Elizabeth is not so keen on them probably because they have a tendency to get a few fruit fly maggots.
