What amazes me is that kangaroo is easier to get here than in Australia. I wonder where it's come from? I see it here from time to time but have never checked country of origin.
... but did you buy? Will it be on your Christmas menu?
The popularity of Lidl and Aldi is certainly rising in the UK. Nearly everyone in my walking group shops there regularly for at least some of their purchases.
The Aldi mince pies came out as best even beating Fortnum and Mason!
Just don't expect to pay with a credit card. I had to slink out of my local Lidl last week leaving my trolley load of festive treats (and my trolley £1) behind. However, I'm sure I've used a credit card in France. I wonder if the EU know?

We encounter lots of Brits at our local Lidls. The latest was a couple about our age trying to stuff their trendy teeny sports car with toilet rolls.
Susan, unfortunately we didn't check country of origin but Lidl's Kangaroo steaks, which were on sale earlier in the year, came from Australia.
Tim, yes... quite!
Gaynor, you can pay with debit cards in Lidl but not credit cards.
