Heat Wave - or Thinking of *Gaynor)

What do you do when temperatures reach 35.5 in the shade?

We decided to set off early yesterday and head for the coast, to the town of Royan at the mouth of the Gironde Estuary.

To give you a taste of the area, here is a selection of photos taken throughout what was a fantastic day..
Colin viewing the boat moorings

A near birds eye view over the harbour

Le Grand Roue in the background

 and again, in the foreground

Fishing nets to the ready suspended from these platforms

A beautiful beach for a swim!

Smart promenades
and attractive approaches to the seafront

 Le Phare de la Coubre

And YES! We did go for a swim...

What a wonderful place on a perfect day! Such happy memories....

*(315 days and counting, Gaynor!)
