Five Years Update..

Last night as I drove back from Chinon hospital (see last night's post!) I stopped by the river to take yet another photo from a spot I've photographed from so often.

The water was calm and the light perfect...

Is it just me or do others experience a calming effect from such a scene?

To end on a more cheery note than last night... Colin is home from hospital this afternoon and we would both like to thank everyone who has sent good wishes and kind words over the last couple of weeks.

Hurrah! And thank goodness it wasn't one of those antibiotic resistant strains one hears so much about. Keep taking the medication, lay around the house doing nothing for a week and you'll be fine. Hope it is not too uncomfortable.

Great news!
And that is indeed a lovely view.

Great view and great news...
Just do some polishing on the Beachcomber, Colin... that'll build your strength up!

Views like the one you took, Elizabeth, have been painted for a long time... probably because they were found pleasant and calming...
I like these shots... the second one the best...
