Coals to Newcastle??

Having spent the last few days picking, hulling, freezing, eating, coulis-ing, eating and jamming strawberries, we chose to spend this afternoon visiting.....

Fete de la Confiture et Vide Grenier, Abilly!!

Alongside the usual eclectic mix of stalls....

there were those selling jams of every variety imaginable..

And an "Exposition" to celebrate 20 years of the fete. The theme was "confiture de la monde" with a jar of Roses Lime Marmalade representing the UK.

The relevance of the dates attached to these displays rather escaped us...

And as if it wasn't hot enough already, these fire dancers gave a colourful and rhythmic display outside the Mairie

This little group made us smile..

As did this screening... (couldn't get it all in due to parked cars, but I'm sure you'll get the message)

Did we buy any jam?? Not likely! We could have held a jam festival of our own!

Any friends who fancy coming to 'pick your own' will be provided with a suitable container and some sun cream!

Sorry we missed you...
as you were taking the pictures of the fire and percussion group...
we were behind the stalls in the background...
eating chichis!!

I thought those "hotels for insects" were very imaginative and attractive - hope the insects do too!

Yes it would have been nice to see you... It gave the 2CV a run out with plenty of beeps and waves from some old bikers, there must have been a rally on somewhere!!
