Plane Spotting with a Difference

Years ago, when climbing Snowdon, I saw my first (and only) broken spectre. The "spectre" appears when the sun casts a person's shadow onto the upper surface of a cloud, causing a halo around the shadow.

Today I saw the same phenomenon, this time of the plane, as we were coming in to land at Limoges airport.

Luckily I had my camera handy ("now there's a surprise" thinks Colin!)

Just chance for these few shots before we came out below cloud level and the view of the plane changed...

Then, before I could say "broken spectre", Colin arrived and whisked me back to Braye........ to get on with the gardening!!
