Yesterday Colin noticed this beautifully constructed nest in the wisteria....
It is in rather a precarious position on slender branches but, as these would not bear the weight of a predator, it is perhaps a wise place to build...
We've not had a close enough look at the parent bird yet to establish its identity but it could possibly be a siskin or goldfinch??
We'd be glad of any help from our readers on this one please??

It looks like a Goldfinch nest... especially if the siting is precarious!
I'll look in the Collins Nests and Eggs book tomorrow [this] morning when I get up... the egg is very clear.
Thank you, Pollygarter. It is a goldfinch. Colin has just seen the adult bird sitting on the nest!
