Regular readers will remember the post from February involving a set of extending hedge trimmers and the very powerful Edge the Prune! See Here.
Well, being half Yorkshire and brought up with the 'Make do and mend' attitude the only thing to do was attempt a repair!
I dug out the pop riveter, bought a short length of aluminium strip from Leroys and this was the result.
The only problem was that the plastic was quite brittle and it started to crack a little with the force of the pop rivets. Probably why it failed in the first place!
Time will tell if it holds out... It has some rather large Leylandii to trim!
What I will have to avoid, is letting Edge the Prune loose with it...

Colin,
I can almost hear you speaking this post!
Tim's impressed that you've put washers behind to spread the load. Exactly as he would have done.....
Personally I think Elizabeth hates pruning and has set this up so she never has to do it again...she can't be trusted, so you will have to do it...oh dear...
It doesn't sound the most robust item in the first place, let's hope it lasts longer than the Leylandii!
