We had very little internet connection yesterday and the day before. No idea why.

we've just switched from Orange to BT in the UK. In France we haven't had too much bother with Orange but we aren't there enough to really tell.
It doesn't seem possible to get the broadband 'deals' in France that are available in the UK.
Hope the service improves for you.

Just found this on Nouvelle Republique...
Following a false maneuver an excavator doing roadwork, late Friday morning in the town of Rivarennes a fiber optic cable was severed France Telecom. This resulted in the interruption of Internet access for some 7.500abonnés Orange and all other operators, about twenty towns in the west of the department of Indre-et-Loire, including those of Canton Chinon. A temporary repair should restore the service on Friday evening.
