A Weekend with Friends!

What a lovely weekend it has been! We were invited to Gaynor and Tim's along with Jean and Nick and Sally and Chris.

On Saturday afternoon we enjoyed a bright and breezy walk through the Sandon Estate, Staffordshire. The landscape lends itself to photography, especially on a day like this...

Is that Colin I see in the lead? And on a slight incline, too?!

But then a blur flashed by....

and Lulu took the lead...

And coming up on the inside lane... it's Colin again!

The church on the estate was, unfortunately, locked but it made for an impressive picture...

and a different view across the estate..

At last my first chance this year to photograph some of my favourite flowers. (I feel a painting coming on!)

And then, a shadow of our former selves...

we returned to Gaynor and Tim's for the most delicious evening meal, in the company of some super friends - these friendships having been formed on the other side of the Channel, and via our respective blog posts!

So a huge "Thank you" to our brilliant hosts, Gaynor and Tim..

We'll be back next weekend for more of the same! (Only joking!)

Thank you for coming and for all of the lovely goodies you brought with you, especially the chocolate log - late for 2014 or early for 2015. It was delicious!

We really enjoyed the weekend and the 'pooled supper' was fantastic, even if the assembled ranks were less than perfect at playing Tension. We must do it again.

Sandon is always super for a walk, and we were lucky with a break in the weather which made it all possible.

Those flowers look positively out of season! Isn't it the dead of winter?

Gaynor, we were pretty rubbish at Tension, weren't we? And when you factor in the combined general knowledge/specialisms of those taking part... you could weep!! What good fun though!

Betty Carlson, I agree with you; these snowdrops did seem to be somewhat advanced but we've had a relatively mild winter so far, I suppose. Thank you for your comments!
