Potager update

Things are growing in the potager at an alarming rate! Since we started planting on 28th March, The Big Plant, hardly a month has gone by and plants are growing fast. I hope not too fast, any advice would be appreciated from seasoned French gardeners.

The potatoes, 4 rows heaped up, we still have seed potatoes for another 3 or 4 rows yet to plant. The lettuce to the left of the picture is a cheat, we bought 24 plants from  garden centre, 16 remain hence the netting. My lettuce seedling leave a lot to be desired. You need a magnifying glass to see them!

The peas with support twigs, two rows of onions and a row of carrots just appearing.

Dwarf harricot beans to the left. To the right is a mixture of cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage. Too small to see and not looking all that healthy. but we have more seedlings growing on, hopefully!

Our other concern is the nectarine. We bought it from a garden centre earlier in the year and it has yet to show any sign of life. We wait in a hope that it is a late developer!

Tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes etc etc are still in small pots and seed trays. Watch this space.
