Weather Vanes

Throughout Touraine various weather-vanes can be seen set against the sky line. One of my favourites is the one belonging to the Couly-Dutheil Vineyards at Chinon. Its obviously relatively new by its construction materials (copper tube etc) and its symbolism requires no explanation.

The weather vane is located on their building just behind Chinon fortress. The picture below is taken from the fortress tower which overlooks the buildings and some of their vineyards.

Hi Colin and Elizabeth,
I've just found your blog via Susan and Simon, and spent a few minutes skimming through. You have worked hard in a short time.
We have a home in Le Petit-Pressigny, but as we still work, can only get out during holidays, at the moment. We are looking forward to the time when we can 'turn our dreams into reality' too.
I look forward to reading more about your adventures.
