Shades and Shapes of Autumn

There was a certain autumnal nip in the air this morning for the first time this year..and a look round the garden over the past few days has shown the advance of the season.

The intricacies of spider webs, highlighted by both dew and sunshine...

The colours of our maple and oak are stunning at present...

And seed heads provide food for the small birds and mammals, as well as looking lovely in their own right..

And for the first time this year I've come inside the house to this welcoming sight..

Yep; there are some good things about the cooler nights!
