but then the frosts and cold winds took their toll..
The blossom hadn't had chance to "set" and we had to accept that we would not be getting any peaches this year.
We have examined the tree on numerous occasions to check it is still thriving and whilst it is covered in leaf now we have seen no sign of a fruit.
Today we had some of our French neighbours round for a cup of tea and whilst looking round the garden Monique completely took us by surprise when she pointed out a peach on our tree!
The little wonder has performed after all! And whatever it tastes like, to us it will be the sweetest peach ever!
