The last time we went to the Ile de Ré the donkeys were wearing gingham pyjama legs so obviously the stripes are in fashion this year !!
The interesting thing is, that was in 2007. Prior to that we had visited the same place many times, year after year, and con't remember seeing the pyjama legs - I'm sure we would have remembered them. So we wondered if it was a fairly recent "custom" !!
