Spot the difference!

Last year we had an exceptionally warm, dry spring and this clearly impacted on the growing season.

The photograph below was taken on 20th February 2011.

Six days later, the tree has buds bursting open and is playing host to hundreds of bees.

I took the following shots of the same tree today, the mid point between the dates above.

Spot the difference!! Roll on warm, sunny days...

The Staff is telling me that he's very pleased that his willows are also as dormant... he's got a lot of planting to do before the end of March.
The Staffette says she'll be glad to get him out of her hair... he's got to plough the new potato bed first though!

Spring was lovely last year but we paid for it later on - it was too dry for a long time.
Today the temperature here was and unbelievable 17°C - it was wonderful!
Great photos, BTW!

I second what Jean has posted. except that in sunny Staffordshire the thermometer read a balmy 18C!

We are getting withdrawal symptoms - roll on Easter...
