Phone Home.

As frequent visitors up to Chinon we have noticed many times the following public facility located on the D8 Quai Jeanne d'Arc...

Why is there a British K6 telephone box in Chinon? I have looked on the internet and can find no links. Could it be a gift from Chinon's twin town in England Tiverton or is there another reason. We would be interested if anybody out there has the answer...

Footnote.
If you fancy one for your village you can still buy one here. If you are rich I might add!!

We already have one just like it in our village ...... in the UK! We even have a rota for cleaning it.

Sorry, I can't help with any info as to why the telephone box is there.

Maybe ET moved it there so he could phone home. LOL Diane.

Strangely, it appears to have its window glass and door still in place. That's rare.

We have often looked upon that phone box and wondered why it's there.
It's strange how the French are very snooty about some things that are English but totally in love with others.

There is one next door to the Simply Market in Ligueil... a present from their twin... Hunger Ford [yes, that's how it is spelt on the signs!!]... is the Chinon one active? The Ligueil one isn't...:-(
If Police boxes belong to Dr. Who... do 'Phone boxes belong to Dr. Where?

WV is "swact"... sealed with a coloured telephonebox
