We set off from Scorton up Snowhill taking the public footpath over Nickey Nook...
This is the first "incline" with the views back over the Lancashire plains and the Irish Sea in the distance...
and looking up to the muddy path ahead...
En route we pass Grizedale Reservoirs..
The first of the "inclines" over, we near the summit..
Age doesn't seem to matter when there are sheep to be chased... This is my daughter, Jane, reliving her childhood on the descent!
....until she is literally stopped in her tracks by this...
Some sad person has seen fit to deface this sign...
Most of the trees looked pretty well-balanced but perhaps these qualify as unstable..
The walk then follows the path of Grizedale Brook to rejoin the road.. which was just as well as the light was fading fast..
The "slight inclines" aren't really that bad, but I must say, they seem to be increasing with age!
