Where have all the Blue Tits gone.

We are still providing bird food for our small birds and the occasional larger ones like a pair of collared doves who come and clean up all the bits the small birds don't eat.

There is still a great demand and the feeders are empty by mid afternoon. However we are missing our little windowsill feeders...

Last week we had dozens, now there are but the odd one or two. Where have they all gone??

A couple of updates.

1. The nest box has been dried and completed and mounted in the tree from whence it came!

2. The hanging Santa is STILL hanging around down in the village... The bets are still on!!

How many Tits?

Can you get on one fat ball feeder?

Is it two?

or three?

or four?

The actual number we have seen on at any one time is five. Didn't manage a picture though!!

A Blue Tit story...

"It's very nice of the lady to put out sunflower kernels for us on the windowsill. It's good watching you lot fight over the feeder"
"Not sure what that is over there"
"I'll ignore it see if it goes away"
"Ohhh it's a camera"
"There is only one thing to do then"
"This is not my best side"
 "There how does that look!"
"That's your lot I am going to have a kernel now"
"Flying without wings!!!"
"I'm off now, bye"

Apple A-Peel

The other day I put an old apple out on the window-sill, intending to take it to the bottom of the garden for the black birds to enjoy.

Unusually for me  (!!) I forgot about it and it stayed there overnight.

By breakfast time the following day, the blue-tits had beaten me to it...

By the end of the day there was little left of the apple - except for the peel! They obviously weren't too keen on that..

"Who, Me??"
...."ME??"

"Yes, You! Get it eaten; it'll make your hair curl!"
