Chinon Cross restored.

As regular readers of our blog know we love Chinon and go there on a regularly. We generally park on the Château car park, walk down the Rue Porte du Château and take the lift to the town centre. When we started walking down the Rue Porte du Château on our last visit the ever observant Elizabeth noticed something different.

A new small  cross had been replaced on top of a column that has obviously been there for years..

As you can see from the photo, the work was completed only last month. What a heartening thought that someone cared enough to replace the cross, situated not in the centre of the town for all to see, but tucked away looking down over the Rue Porte du Château. A simple cross but a great gesture!
