More storage required!!

This is what I have been hearing from Elizabeth when I have to dig to find a piece of kitchen equipment I need...

The solution, buy more kitchen units to fill the gap we have under the window...

and there are plenty of  'used' units, the same design,  for sale on Leboncoin

No No... Too much like hard work.

Our solution, after much thought, was a unit from IKEA... The only trouble with it was the top was too wide for our gap!!! It's a good job I still have the router!!

Did I have the nerve to cut it...  Yes...

and it is a very good fit, perhaps too good, as it may expand and could warp!

So now we have loads of storage and much more work top. So Elizabeth I will be expecting some great creations, after all I blame this on the cake club, with all the equipment necessary to bake...

Another plus side is, if we decide to move we can take it with us!!!

Note:- It will make my problem worse as now rather than dig for it I will not know where to look for it!!!

Excellent job - it looks just right. We had those wooden worktops in the other house and they never warped, as far as I know.
Mind you, a girl can never have too many cake stands and now that there's the storage space for them.........!!

It fits very well into the space, and looks good. I've always wondered what use a router would be and now I know. perhaps getting the piece to fit exactly could also utilise a dremel. I'll get Tim on the case!! ;o)))

We need a trip to IKEA to replace our kitchen trolley stand, which is almost too small to be as useful as I need it to be. Of course, Tim (who rarely uses it) thinks it's perfect. I suspect he thinks another dremel would be more useful!

P.S. Colin, if you are anything like Tim when looking for something you'll look in the least likely place first!

Colin... it looks wonderful...
BUT...
now you will have to change all the cupboard and drawer fronts to match!!!
But looking for things...
I ask Pauline...
even if it is something of mine!!
Usually along the lines of...
"Pauline, do you know where I put my..."

And Gaynor... NO...
Tim NEEDS a router to do jobs like that...
and a router stand...
and assorted bits for different shapes....
his Dremmel would burn out in no time at all!!!

Oh Gaynor, you're on good form this morning! (E) My problem now, is what exactly to put in the new unit... It seems a shame to fill it up! It will keep me occupied for the next few weeks and then the following weeks/months/years will be taken up with trying to remember what I've put where!!

Tim,
Tim has a router, router stand and about 57 cutters and a dremmel. All he needs to do is USE them!!
