A fine bit of blockwork

We spotted this new build (Grand Designs springs to mind, Kevin would be impressed!) on our way to Usseau for one of our walks and thought it worth sharing with you.

Having built various walls in my time out of concrete blocks I have to admire the skills of the mason(s) that are building this...

There was nobody around at the time and I would have loved to go and have a look closer up, but didn't have the cheek or the language skills had I been challenged.

I feel it will be truly magnificent once it is completed and I will definitely be going that way again in a few months time to take a look.

Looking forward to the photo next time you drive past when it may be finished. Happy Easter. Diane

I discovered your blog from Niall and Antoinette. I agree the building is very impressive. I have often marvelled at the work of French stonemasons. It's a wonderful thing that these skills are still being used. Hope you get to see the finished job and we get to see the result.
