Preventative measures...

As regular readers will know Elizabeth is sometimes a nocturnal animal, she gets up at all hours and flits about in the dark. She got up the other night with disastrous consequences...

"Who put that Bureau there" was not what I heard...

What I have heard ever since is "How am I going to get my wedding shoes on".  It is extremely painful and nothing can touch it at the moment!!! (Requires much sympathy)

So some action was required... Whilst out shopping today we bought some things to help. This is following suggestions made during the cake club and after a very sympathetic posting on Facebook.

Purchase one... A head torch to prevent further collisions. (perhaps)

I especially like the option of red flashing LED's as this will be useful in tracking Elizabeth down when she is in the garden at night!!!

Purchase two and three... A freezable bandage and some bruise cream...

She is, as I write, dunking the said foot in very hot and then very cold water, this helps evidently... What fun!!

However on a finishing note... The bad foot DID NOT stop her digging a hole for the new plant bought for us, by our good friends, as a wedding present... It's a good job I was around to help with this planting before more damage was done!!!

What I will be acquiring in the near future will be some form of restraint (bondage) to slow her down a little... I understand Ann Summers do such things, but I wouldn't know anything about that!!!

Birthday Bash

As part of Elizabeth's birthday, her daughter Jane bought her a secret present...

Go on Elizabeth... Hit it!

What a success. The things people do for a few sweeties!!

My problem is that I am marrying this woman in less than two months... I better behave myself then...

Where is that Edge!!

Elizabeth when you need her...

The rate the grass is growing at present caused a slight problem with me mowing!!

What I thought was the edge of our hole was only grass! and as they say I bottomed out and got stuck with the cutter surround flat on the ground and the front wheel in thin air...

The solution:- I  had to call out Edge rescue... who sat on the machine whilst I pushed it free.

She also had the camera to hand to capture my misfortune and have a good gloat!

"Gentlemen Prefer Blonds"

It is an age-old saying that is regularly contested.
But unfortunately for all the glossy brunettes out there, it seems that men really do prefer blondes when choosing a date.
The latest survey revealed that men are 3 per cent more likely to opt for a blonde over a brunette. (Daily Mail Aug 2012)

Continuing on yesterdays theme.

Whilst shopping I wanted to buy this

For some reason totally unknown to myself Elizabeth again would not let me...

Perhaps I should start shopping alone!

Pimp your Garden...

Elizabeth's been at it again!

The sound of the sewing machine has filled the house for the last few days. The result??

Bunting!

And lots of it!! It's beginning to take over the garden.. (Elizabeth is at pains to point out that this is only a rough sample and needs finishing with colour coordinated bias binding yet!)

And just when I thought I'd seen it all, out came the new line.... Baby Bunting!!

And as if that wasn't enough, to top it all (pardon the pun...) we have Cup Cake Toppers!!

Now apparently this is serious stuff. So if you need colour coordinated bunting for your Jubilee Party or Olympic Games Bash... get your orders in fast.. they sell like, well, hot cakes!!

Ohhhh... I can see a visit to the various Tissus (Fabric) shops coming on...

Creative Elizabeth...

If you have followed our blog for any length of time you will be aware of Elizabeth's creative talents. Today she regressed to her childhood and created this fine sculpture in our garden.

Well children will play won't they...

Another of  Elizabeth's many talents is sewing. Here's a couple of garments she knocked together recently...

The first is a baby dress... All we want now is a baby to wear it. How do we get one of those? Its been a long time!

The second is a little more sophisticated a work of art in fact. Elizabeth your talents never cease to amaze me!
