Fingers Crossed!

With a bit of luck and a following wind, our house hunting days MAY be over!

Sale of ours and purchase of another one in the hands of the respective solicitors... what more can we say?!

Perhaps this will be the final set of house-hunting (ok, Susan, sight-seeing!!) photos...

But then again, who knows?

Another day; another house hunt!

We are certainly getting around these days in our search for our next home.

Yesterday we travelled up from Clitheroe, a small market town in Lancashire (and Colin's birthplace!), to Cravendale. The snow was still lying on the higher fells but the scenery was dark and atmospheric..

Today we were in Cumbria. Our journey took us up the M6, passing Lancaster, with a view of the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park.

Then on towards Kendal, with the Cumbrian fells in the distance covered in snow..

We stopped by the River Levens, near Low Sizergh to see the rush of water going over the weir....

As we retraced our route down the M6, the sun was setting over Morecambe Bay...

and the Bleasdale Fells looked a picture with the last rays of sun catching the snow covered summit..

This house-hunting lark makes us appreciate what a lovely area of the country we live in.

Pond dipping!

Beside the water again, today but this time a lot closer to home... the garden pond to be exact.

Checking the health of the water, this was is what I scooped out...

Based on this small sample we look like having a fine show of newts again next year and a wealth of other pond life, too. Very happy with that!

The Lake District at its best...

A house hunting quest took us a little further north today and we had a picnic at Lakeside.

Enjoy the view..... we did!!

We couldn't have had a better day to appreciate the splendour of the lake and its surroundings!

Murmuration.... come back Autumn Watch!

This murmuration of thousands of birds was filmed at dawn from the Gare de Peage d'Amblaine on the A16, whilst driving south through France on 31st October, 2016.

A wonderful sight we thought you may enjoy...

It was just lucky that we were at the Peage and able to park up to take the film and enjoy the show.

Here's a still taken at the same time..

Isn't nature wonderful?
