An impossible photograph!

I was looking through some of our old photographs and came across Elizabeth's pictures of our trip to the west coast of Scotland back in April 2009...

It holds special memories for both of us, in that one of the photographs, I have concluded, is the impossible photograph...

We have over the years attempted to recreate it and between us we must have taken hundreds and hundreds of images to no avail.

This is me on the shore of Loch Maree...

This is me on the shore of Loch Maree...

What Elizabeth captured was purely by chance and we had no idea of the content until we looked at it on the computer. Despite photographing water drop after water drop we have not come close...

So to all you photographers out there if you are looking for a challenge!

It has appeared on the blog before back in March 2011 under the heading of Reflections. We are continuing with our droplet quest, watch this space but don't hold your breath...

The weather for the weekend is forecast to be wet and windy. Perhaps we can give it a go...but I'm hoping that the forecast is wrong!!

I take it you mean like this:

You need to get up on a dewy morning to catch shots like that without waiting for the rain to stop...
and I took it with my original Optio...
not the one with Ultra-macro...
haven't tried that yet...
and this one is after a shower...

and will never be taken again...
the "spikey" trees, bottom right...
are now a 2mtr high hedge!!
It is bleedin' difficult...
especially in what is normally considered "low light"...
but, hey, film is free nowadays...
well, virtually...
so we can have fun trying.

And you reckon you've taken loads trying to re-create the shot...
please note...
these are the ones I felt I could put up on Fumblr!!

Nice ones Tim but no clear detail... We want to see a person in the raindrop...

OH! You are after a particular image...
can't do that here...
could do cyclists...
provided they were against a head wind!!
