Paris in July...

is quite busy.

As part of this week's joint birthday celebrations (Jane 15th and then Elizabeth 16th) we took the TGV from St Pierre des Corps up to Paris for a rather long day trip...  The train was excellent; cheap off peak, €30 each return, on time and very comfortable... We left at St Pierre at 08.15hrs and returned there at 19:46hrs, travel time, 1 hour each way. Fantastic...

As most of the party had not been to Paris before, we decided to do some of the main sites, as follows...

Much of it was done, as it should be, on foot with a little help from the Metro.

The birthday celebrations kicked off in style... Happy Birthday Jane, pictured above at the Eiffel tower with fiancee Steve and to the love of my life Elizabeth, with me at Sacré-Cœur.

Old romantic, Colin, were exactly my thoughts but Susan beat me to them!

Great minds think alike. Lovely pics of a lovely day.

Happy birthday to Elizabeth and Jane.

Same here!
I always knew there was a romantic old softy underneath that rugged Lancashire exterior!

A trip to Paris is a great way to celebrate a birthday and it looks like you had a wonderful time and made the most of every minute.
