Everything you never knew you wanted...

This morning we attended the annual Auto Bourse in Le Grand Pressigny, where you can buy many of the things you may one day want but don't know it yet.

Anything and everything for your old car... A door complete with bird droppings BUT if you needed one I am sure you wouldn't mind!

I wanted to buy this little machine for Elizabeth so she could get around the garden quicker!!

and this old Massey Fergy tractor took my fancy but neither of us wanted to drive it back to Braye! Yes, that's me giving it the eye! I spent hours on one in my youth turning and rowing my uncle's hay.

I would have definitely taken home these three old bikes, dating from the early 1900's. They were superb.

It was a great morning out and is to be recommended.

Auto Bourse de Chatellerault 2013

For the second year running we went to the Auto Bourse or car market / exchange at Chatellerault. We arrived before 10:00am and the huge car park was overflowing. The only place we managed to find to park was next to the campsite down by the river, which was more pleasant than the car park anyway...

When we entered it was packed out, as expected given the number of cars...

The display this year was of all UK cars, including a nice E type, and no it's not Elizabeth posing by the Rolls...

There was also a second E type, which I had a drool over...

It was in the same hall as the Traction Universelle stand and we know someone who will be drooling over the convertible. But for me it has to be the E Type.

This year as well as browsing we were looking for a couple of items for our 2 CV which is 30 this month... Oh to be 30 again...

The first was a spare ignition coil, as we understand they are prone to playing up especially in hot weather...  Yes, there were a few around but not at a price we wanted to pay...  The second was a locking petrol cap which we bought from one of the two 2 CV stalls in the bourse hall.

I never owned a Ford Anglia but did give this rally one the once over.

The Bourse is on over the weekend and if you are in the area it is well worth a visit.. providing you can find somewhere to park!

Auto Bourse in Grand Pressigny

Yesterday morning we attended the annual Auto Bourse in Le Grand Pressigny meeting up with friends Tim and Pauline who were exhibiting their 1956 Citroen 2 CV.

As usual the event was well attended, with its display of old cars, motorbikes, tractors and static engines, as well as numerous stalls selling everything to do with vehicle engineering. If you are looking for spares for your precious old vehicle, these events are definitely the place to find them.

These are three of my favourites...

I used to make 'trolleys' as a kid and this, at the time, would have been the Rolls Royce!

Ahh the Citroen SM what's not to love about this V6 Maserati powered Gran Turismo car.

Finally this would be just the job for sawing up all the tree branches we have cut down and are planning to cut down next winter...

We will be back next year.

From the Bourse we went on to Le Petit Pressigny, to a splendid lunch provided by our friends Gaynor and Tim .  It was a great afternoon and a chance to catch up with some of our friends and also meet new ones.  Our thanks go to Gaynor and Tim for hosting a really superb get together.

Auto Bourse de Chatellerault

This morning on our way to do our shopping we called in at the Auto Bourse or car market / exchange.

If you own an old vehicle, with any number of wheels, this is the place to go. If you could not buy the part you wanted there, then I think you would be very unlucky...

It is on over the weekend and well worth a visit especially given the splendid weather.

Was tempted with this one, just the thing for a pair of oldies like us...

.... Yes, Colin, you and who else??!
