Garden Visitors

We were both out with our cameras in the garden yesterday. In fact we usually carry them with us at all times (well, I do!)

At the end of a day's gardening we compared notes and put together a list of the more unusual 'visitors'...

There was the wonderful Brimstone butterfly...

And the colourful Jersey Tiger Moth, seen first on a conifer and then on the window....

Not to be outdone, its butterfly cousin put in an appearance. Here it is: the Tiger Swallowtail. As you'll see, this one has seen better days!

Now here's a cuddly looking creature..

Until you see him from the side, that is! I don't think I'd want to be on the receiving end of a stab from that proboscis!

It is so covered in pollen it's a wonder it can still fly!

And there we were thinking we were on our own in the garden! It just shows what a lot there is to see if you look close enough - and have your camera to hand at the right moment, of course.
