Observations on a pond...

We have been privileged to watch three dragonfly emerge from our pond over the last few days. 

The following photos show one emerging from the pond and developing its adult form..

And finally...
Such a wonderful sight and so lucky to be able to have it on our doorstep - literally!

    Fabulous! What a great series. To see it from even before it leaves the water is really special. (Male Blue Hawker Aeshna cyanea, in case you were wondering...)
