Aquilegia

We have never had such a lovely display of aquilegia..

Here are some of our favourites....

I would dearly love a "granny's bonnet" aquilegia if anyone would like a seed swop. But unfortunately they do not always come true from seed... It's the luck of the draw, with some wonderful results along the way.

  1. They're absolutely beautiful. One of my favourite flowers by far. Beautiful photographs too!

  3. Have you tried collecting wild seed? They grow all over here. The wild ones are always dark blue.

  4. I've not tried collecting seed from the wild ones, Susan. I'll certainly have a go at that.

  5. Beautiful, we have 2 nice ones we planted last year and my Mum just gave me four more that self seeded in her garden path! One of mine from last year is Granny's bonnet. Do you want me to send you some seeds when they are done flowering? Not that I've ever harvested seeds from am aquilegia.
